Outbound privacy policy
Updated 2026-10-28
Outbound is a game made by Lumi Games. This page says what the game sends away from your device, why, and what you can choose.
There are no accounts and no purchases that need your details. Lumi Games does not sell your data.
Your saved game
Your company, ships, credits and settings are saved on your device. If you use iCloud (iPhone) or are signed in to Google Play Games (Android), a copy of your saved game, including the names you gave your company and ships, is kept in your own iCloud or Google account so you can carry on on another device. Lumi Games cannot read it; Apple or Google keeps it under their own privacy policy.
Crash reports (always on)
When the game crashes, a report is sent to Google Firebase Crashlytics so the fault can be fixed. It holds the error and where in the code it happened, your device model, system version and game version, a short trail of the screens and kinds of action before the crash, a few numbers (how many ships you have, your company rating, hours since you last played, the class of the ship you last opened) and a random installation code made by Firebase.
It never holds the names you type for your company or ships, your name, your email address or an advertising code. Google keeps crash reports for 90 days.
We use this because keeping the game working is our legitimate interest. There is no switch for it. It holds no names, contact details or advertising codes.
Analytics (only if you allow it)
If you choose Allow, the game sends how it is played to Google Analytics for Firebase, so we can see what is used, where players get stuck and what to improve.
This holds: the screens you open; naming your company (that it happened, never the name); buying a license, berth, ship or upgrade; loading jobs; launching and landing ships; answering an incident; taking, finishing or missing a request; taking, finishing or breaking a route contract; starting or funding a project; why an order was refused; and, when you leave the game, your credits, rating, number of ships and places and the last screen you were on. Each comes with the ids of the place or ship class involved and counts, never anything you typed. Two company-size groups (a range of ship counts and your rating) are also kept.
Firebase adds its own information: a random installation code, device model, system version, language, game version, the first time the game was opened, session times, in-app purchases (which product and its price) and the country or region worked out from your internet address. Google does not keep the address itself. There is no advertising code and nothing is used to follow you in other apps.
Analytics data is kept for 14 months. We use it only because you agreed.
You can change your mind at any time in the game, under Settings and then Privacy. If you choose No thanks the game stops sending analytics straight away.
Ads
Some jobs are sponsored. Sending a ship with one plays a short video ad. No other job needs an ad, and you never have to take one.
So that an ad is ready when you want one, the game loads one from Google AdMob each time it starts, even if you never watch it. With the Supporter pack the game does not load ads or contact AdMob at all.
The ads come from Google AdMob. To choose an ad, load it, show it and count it, AdMob receives your internet address, device model, system version, language, the game version, how you interact with the ad and your device's advertising code (on iPhone only if you allow tracking).
In Europe and the UK, Google's own form first asks what may be stored on your device and whether ads may be chosen for you. On iPhone, Apple also asks whether the game may use the advertising code. If you say no, you still get ads, but not ones based on what you do in other apps and sites.
You can change your choice under Settings and then Ad choices, and reset or delete the advertising code in your device's settings.
Google uses this data as its own controller, under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Who receives it
Google (Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC) handles crash reports and analytics for us under its data processing terms, which include the safeguards the law asks for when data goes outside Europe. We share it with no one else.
Google also receives the ads data described above, which it handles as its own controller.
Opening this page in the game asks our website, which is hosted by Google Firebase Hosting, for the latest text. Your internet address is visible to it as for any website. Nothing else is sent.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct, delete, restrict or move the data held about you, object to how it is used, and take back your consent at any time. You may also complain to your data protection authority (in Sweden, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY).
We do not know who a record belongs to, so to find yours we need the installation code, which the game does not show. Analytics data is deleted by itself after 14 months and crash reports after 90 days.
Children
Outbound is not made for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If the age of consent where you live is higher, please ask a parent or guardian before choosing Allow.
Changes
This text can be updated. The latest text is always on this page and in the game. If we change what is collected, the game asks you again.
